As our classes are small we are able to give each student a high degree of individual attention. Our aim is to help everyone find or develop their own visual "voice".
We generally teach for two morning sessions and one afternoon session each day. The emphasis will be on drawing and painting in the landscape and in the gardens of La Finca Susana, with the opportunity for studio work if desired, in the early mornings or at siesta times.
We believe that observational drawing is a vital foundation for developing a visual language and we encourage regular sketchbook work as well as developed paintings.
Amongst the areas that we cover in our teaching are: the importance of composition; establishing a solid tonal structure; colour relationships; form and depth.
We love looking at the work of many other artists and think it is an important part of the process of expanding and deepening our knowledge.
Our tuition is always constructive and supportive. It takes the form of individual chats during the work -sessions and a group discussion at the end of each day. You are of course at liberty to spend as much or as little time working as you wish - however our hope is to inspire you to return home with a sense of real suprise at how much you have achieved.
We look forward to sharing our enthusiasm and love of painting with you.
